Lacoma Baptist Church was organized on July 21, 1933 in the old Road Branch School House. The first pastor of the church was Rev. J.E. Durham from Man. Ray Brown was the first church clerk. Deacons were: L.D. Harless, Burl Toler, Ezra Toler, J. Rush Cook and Beckett Brown. There were 51 charter members according to the records available. They were: Ray Brown, Alafair Brown, Cecil H. Brown, Leota Brown, Blanch Brown, Hulan Brown, Georgia Brown, Lloyd Brown, Angelina Brown, Beckett Brown, Sarah Brown, Minnie Brown, Freeman Blankenship, Florence Canterbury, Ott Canterbury, J. Rush Cook, Rosa Cook, May Cook, Mun Cook, Marjorie Cook, Mercedes Cook, Earl Cooper, L.D. Harless, Maggie M. Harless, Mary E. Harless, Norman H. Harless, Sylvia M. Harless, Milne Harless, Edith Mahone, Rosa Perry, Lewis Perry, Mike Perry, Bill Perry, Lura Perry, Fred Perry, Byrd Perry, Edna Perry, Ross Perry, Hobart Paynter, Burl Toler, Nella J. Mom is requesting prayers for her great niece, Samantha. She lives in Wisconsin and was involved in an ATV accident. She has serious injuries and will be having surgery tomorrow.

Mother’s Day. Our oldest and youngest mothers present. They just happen to be grandmother and granddaughter, Frances Chambers and Jill Bachert. Jill’s daughter, Calista, played a special piano solo.
